This year's Grand Marshals will be Mr.Van-Lear Black III and Mr.Van-Lear Black IV.

Tours of Loretta Lynn's Butcher Hollow Home. Call Webb's Stop'n'Shop at606-789-3397 for additional information.

Icky's 1950's Snack Shop will be open and serving snow cones,popcorn, cotton candy and a wide assortment of candy and soft drinks.

10:00am - 3:30pm Soup Bean dinner at the Coal Miners' Museum (Forlunch time deliveries phone:789-8540.) Dinners are $5.00/ea.

5:00p.m.- Official Ceremonies - Awarding of prizes to the eldest coal miner and miner's wife in the audience. Introduction of this years' Grand Marshall and the awarding of the oldest coal miner and oldest coal miner's wife/widow. This annual event will be held in the Coal Miners' Museum. 5:00p.m. - FREE Live Music in the streets - In front of the Coal Miner's Museum. Bring a lawn chair. Concessions and rest room at the Coal Miners'Museum.

6:00p.m. - Horseshoe Tournament at Rucker Park. $5.00/person entry fee.

6:00p.m. - "Crank It Up" Car Stereo Contest - Rucker Park - $10.00 entry fee/ $5.00 re-entry fee.

8:00a.m.- The Van Lear Vol. Fire Dept. hosts The Coal Miners'10K Run- Starting line at Rucker Park - $20.00 entry fee - Trophies will be given 3 deep in age categories and overall male and female. Contact:Chief Chuck Wetzel at 606-789-7143

8:00a.m.- Turkey Shoot

9:00a.m.- 6th Annual Van Lear Car Show - VLFWB Church parking lot - Many, many awards.- Also the best three motorcycles and the best three trucks. - Dash plaques will be given for all cars and trucks. - Entry fee: $15.00/vehicle. Prize drawing every 30 mins.for entrants.For more information phone: 606-789-8540

10:00a.m.- 2:00p.m.- The Coal Miners' Museum will be open to the public.

10:00a.m.- Corn hole tournament- Fee $10.00/team at Rucker Park.

10:00a.m.- Basketball Free Throw Contest at the Rucker Park basketball court. 5 shots for $1.00.

10:00a.m.- Volleyball Tournament - Rucker Park.

10:00a.m.- 1:30p.m.- Soup Bean Dinner at the Coal Miners' Museum. Dinners $5.00/ea.

11:00a.m.- Kids'Games at Rucker Park.

12:00 Noon - Anti-drug program by the Johnson County Sheriff's Department at the Coal Miners' Museum. For more information call: 606-789-8540.

12:00 Noon - Hula Hoop Contests at Rucker Park.

2:30p.m.- Annual Van Lear Parade - All local fire departments, law enforcement agencies, schools, non-profit groups, elected officials, classic cars, hot rods and floats are welcome to participate. The parade route begins at Herman Webb's store. For more information phone:606-789-8540.

3:30p.m.- Do the Twist! Contest and Karaoke Contest at the Coal Miners' Museum. $5.00/person entry fee for each contest entered. For information phone: 789-8540.
